Spicy Louisiana Shrimp

This is a great weeknight meal that can be on the table in 15 minutes! It packs some serious flavour and heat. I recommend to eat this over some rice or to get a nice crusty loaf of bread to soak up the extra sauce. Simple, healthy and delicious!

Yield: 4 servings

  • 1lb tiger shrimp, peeled, deveined, tail on

  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika

  • 1 tbsp. chili powder

  • 1 tbsp. cumin

  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp. cracked black pepper

  • 1 tsp. dried oregano

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil (or unsalted butter if you're not dairy free)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp. water

  • Juice of ½ a lemon, plus lemon wedges for garnish

  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced

In a large bowl mix together, smoked paprika, chilli powder, cumin, brown sugar, pepper, oregano and salt. Add in shrimp and toss to coat.

Heat oil over medium heat in a large fry pan. Add in garlic and sauté until fragrant, 1-2 minutes. Add in shrimp, Worcestershire, water and lemon juice and stir. Cook until shrimp are opaque, approximately 4 minutes total, flipping shrimp halfway through cooking time. Garnish with green onion and lemon wedges. Enjoy!
